Cabarete, Dominican Republic is one of the most popular kiteboarding spots in the world. Every day the wind blows (which is nearly every single day) we’re reminded how stoked we are to call Kite Beach home. But this is a beautiful country with miles and miles of beautiful coasts, so sometimes we pack up the bus with friends and visitors and go on a kiteboarding adventure! This one is a two-day kiteboarding trip Buen Hombre and Paradise Island.

Playa Buen Hombre

Buen Hombre, Spanish for Good Man, is a little fishing town in the province of Monte Cristi. It’s about 3 hours west of Cabarete, and the scenery, culture, and conditions make it well worth the trip. Playa Buen Hombre, once considered a secret kite spot, is a shallow bay filled with buttery flat turquoise ocean water. The wind blows perfectly side-onshore, and the wind averages between 20-30knots. Since it is off the beaten path, there is plenty of wide open space to get more experience as a beginner or try your newest tricks as an advanced rider.

Shout out to our friend Crystal Veness for the rad video.
