Advanced Kiteboarding Lessons – Yay!

So now you’re riding upwind, and you’re ready to take it to the next level? It’s perfectly fine to embark on this mission on your own, but learning advanced kiteboarding skills with professional instruction will get you further faster. From transitions to unhooking for the first time, at Cabarete Kite Point Kiteboarding School we have specialty instructors for kitesurfers looking to advance and enhance their skills.

Am I ready for advanced kiteboarding lessons?

Your riding level will be assessed before we start according to worldwide kiting standards for what is considered an independent rider. If you are riding independently then you are ready to move on to advanced kiteboarding lessons.

So you should be proficient in the following skills: Controlled Stop, Control of Riding Speed by Edging, Riding Upwind, Sliding Transitions, Toe-Side Riding, Toe-Side Turn, Self-Launching, Self-Rescue and Pack Down in Deep Water.

What can I learn during advanced kite lessons?

This is the part where you get to enjoy a little freedom of expression. The first thing people want to learn after becoming an independent kiteboarder is how to jump. If you are beyond that, then just let us know up front what you are working on, and we will pair you with the instructor best suited for the occasion.

Here are some ideas of what you can book: first jumps, jump transitions, boosting, board-offs, board grabs, backrolls, front rolls, riding blind, downloops, kiteloops, riding unhooked, railey.

Believe the other reviews, this kiteboarding school is awesome! Came to Cabarete with my brother-in-law to learn to kiteboard in 5 days and our instructors, Jeison and Moreno, had us both shredding by the end of the week. I went from complete beginner to riding upwind, transitioning, and even getting some small jumps in thanks to Jeison's expertise! The cafe at the school has great food/drinks and the best seating area on kite beach. The owner, Tracy, is really nice and responsive/helpful for those heading to Cabarete for the first time. Hoping to make it back soon!

This is hands down the best place for anyone wanting to learn how to kite surf for the first time or improve upon current level. They have taught our teenage son kite surfing for 3 spring breaks- from beginner to now a pretty dang good for a once a year kite surfer!

We couldn’t be happier. Although son does speak Spanish I do not and every person we dealt with was able to speak English well. Everyone here was super attentive, honest, kind and experienced. Also there are some ridiculously accomplished instructors.

Food was fresh and spectacular at the cafe on the beach, and there were many other great spots along the beach to try as well. Tracy and her team were incredibly kind, accommodating, and made every detail of planning seamless. The beach is beautiful and the kiteboarding was amazing. Highly recommend staying at Agaualina and taking lessons at Kite Point. Hope to come back soon.
